It’s that season when Clover merchants are at their busiest. Clover aims to help merchants by allowing them to focus on their business and sales. Our annual code freeze is a period where no new code is deployed on our platform. This freeze also extends to third-party apps built with our APIs and SDKs. The freeze schedule is intended to protect merchants from disruptions in their processes during a busy and stressful period.
Clover support will be temporarily reduced due to the code freeze. Please note and observe the following guidelines:
- App approvals will continue through the holiday season, with the exception of the periods specified under the App approvals section in this document.
- Only submit APKs that are for major bug fixes.
- Approved apps will be marked as private until the code freeze ends.
Here’s the high-level view of the schedule:
Clover platform
Updates paused (November 17–January 3)
During this time, we will not be updating the Clover APIs, SDKs, or any other platform services.
Limited app approvals
Since holiday spending affects a subset of merchant verticals, we will continue with app approvals through the holiday season—on a limited basis.
No app approvals (November 17–December 4 and December 16–January 3)
App approvals will continue to be worked throughout these periods, but will not be released until after the freeze dates.
Critical updates (December 5–December 15)
Since critical updates may be needed, from December 5 to December 15, we will approve new APKs that are necessary to fix major issues with your app. Submitting an update during this period is done at your own risk.
Keep in mind that Developer Relations may have reduced staff at this and any other point during the freeze. We strongly recommend you do not release any new features until after January 3rd when we can provide timely support for your app.
Happy holidays!
