Is it possible to use VPN on Clover Flex Devkit (we use OpenVPN)

We would like to connect our app to servers that require VPN.

Can we install and use OpenVPN on the Clover Flex DevKit?

DevKits allow untrusted Android apps to be installed. You may install whatever app you like on your devkit. Of course you will not be able to do that on real production Clover devices.


Note that some Android apps require Google Play Services and will not run properly on Clover devices. Always be careful when downloading APKs over the internet as many sources of offer poisoned APKs (adware, personal info stealing, etc). This is not an official endorsement or recommendation but you might find APKs by googling "apk pure".

Thanks for the explanation. One related question, do you know if there are Clover devices in production that connect over VPN?

Android has support for programmatically connecting to VPNs but I do not know if any Clover apps are using that feature or not. See https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/vpn

Directly installing OpenVPN on a Clover Flex DevKit is likely not possible or supported due to the device's restricted operating system and limited resources. Consider cloud-based VPN solutions that can be accessed through your application's network requests. Contact Clover support for official guidance or workarounds. Thoroughly research and test any solution before deployment, ensuring it complies with security and performance requirements. You can get one get an amazing vpn solution here.
