Does the payment authorization can be used with E-Commerce API?

What we are looking for is a way to make sure if the customer has enough balance in their card before making a real transaction.
I am not familiar with that endpoint but it is not related to our EComm API. Is there a reason why our auth/capture model will not work for you - https://docs.clover.com/docs/ecommerce-accepting-payments#using-the-auth--capture-model?
We use E-Comm pay order API to pay the order created using Clover orders API.

We tested before with E-Comm charge API but it doesn't aware that the payment is for the order created on Clover. It seems the charge API is only work for external order.
What is the main difference between E-Comm pay order and E-comm create charge?
That would be a great addition for the current E-Comm Pay Order API!
