Purpose of Uninstall App function on App Market Preview

When I click on Preview in App Market for our published app, I see a feature under the three-dot menu that says "Uninstall App." What does this do? I've search for documentation and haven't been able to find.

Up to 2 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 512.0 KiB each and 1.0 MiB total.

It uninstalls the app from your test merchant.

Any idea why that would be visible/accessible from the production dashboard?

Why would it not be? A merchant needs to be able to uninstall an app.
