Amount on receipt is wrong

We are semi integrated. A customer brought this to us.

We requested $32. Amount on receipt shows $24.99. Amount in receipt URL shows $32. Why would printed be different?

Without knowing how the order is being built its hard to say.
The web receipt is built using the state of the order in the server's database.
The printed receipt is built using the state of the order on the device at the time the receipt is printed.
If the order is being built through the web api or on another device, it is possible that changes to the order have not finished syncing to the device at the time that the receipt was printed.

We are waiting on logs from the customer. We do have a scan of the receipt. Would the receipt URL help at all?

The card that was charged was authorized for a lesser amount.

I'm not familiar with the payment flow for this, but it looks like the user should've been notified and prompted to collect the remaining balance.
