We are trying to develop a simple test app on clover. Based on card swipe how can we read the card details?

You may not retrieve unencrypted card data from financial cards. Perhaps you could explain a little more about what you are trying to accomplish?

At this time, you may not use non-Clover/First Data payment processors on Clover devices.
