Using E-Commerce Create Charge For Paying Order That Created Through Clover REST API

Currently we are using E-Commerce API pay order for payment.
However we're interesting to use the E-Commerce API for payment authorization before we create the real charge.
Is it possible to use https://docs.clover.com/reference/charges#createcharge and https://docs.clover.com/reference/charges#capturecharge to pay the order that created through Clover REST API?
We tried before but couldn't make payment. The error message returning a message about source not found.

I don't think there is a way to do this cleanly now. Currently, the order pay endpoints is hard-coded to capture. I brought this up to the ecomm team and it sounds like support for what you are asking for will be considered for the future.
