E-commerce chargebacks due to 3d Secure

Hi there:

We process online payments through iframe implementation.

Some of our merchants are seeing an elevated number of chargebacks particularly due to 3D Secure failure.

I see that 3D Secure is not currently implemented on Clover E-Comm, but is on the roadmap.

Can you please explain the following:

1. if a customer has "3D/VerifiedByVisa/Master" enabled on their card, will the online transaction be processed or declined by default on Clover E-Comm, provided all other checks pass (cvv, avs)?

2. Does each chargeback have to be manually invoked by a customer, OR are you aware of any card issuers that may auto-initiate a chargeback due to failure of 3D Secure?

1) The payment will be processed normally,

2) We can't really speak for external entities, but in our experience, no, issuers don’t auto initiate chargebacks, the customer needs to initiate them by calling the issuer.
