Clover Mini immediately shuts down - power adapter producing 12+ volts

After a few weeks of not using my Clover Mini, now when I power it on using the green button inside the receipt paper compartment, it displays the Clover logo with the alternating colored "leafs" and immediately displays a the message "Shutting down..." and then powers down.

I've tested the power adapter and it is producing approximately 12.2 volts.

It's likely defective.
