What APIs is the Clover online gift card sales app using?

Example: I see Clover selling giftcards for merchants

How are the API being used behind the covers to make this happen?

1. Collect data
2. Issue command to create a gift card
3. Send gift card code to recepient
4. Send receipt to buyer

Would appreciate any pointers.
