Dev Kit w/ order receipt printer

We're trying to figure out what dev kit to buy. Our requirements are:

  1. Be able to process orders (register app, orders app...)
  2. Be able to test printing (both order printing and customer receipt printing)


If we want to test out order printing as per https://www.clover.com/help/set-up-a-kitchen-printer/?device=5VvveoPjUsQaQO08seC6Gy, is it a necessity to buy the Star Micronics SP700?


The Clover Station (https://cloverdevkit.com/collections/devkits/products/clover-station-2018-developer-kit) seems to have an option to add a printer. Does that printer print order receipts or just customer receipts? I'm guessing just customer receipts?


The Clover mini seems to have an embedded printer as well.


We're thinking the Clover Mini + Star Micronics SP700 is the cheapest option to nail our requirements but wanted to check with the community here first.

First, if a Clover device has a receipt printer, that printer can print both order / payment and kitchen receipts which should be fine for testing. I think all (?) of our devkit devices have a built in printer. We support the SP700 for printing in high-temp environments (like a kitchen) that could interfere with a thermal printer (SP700 is an impact printer).

Second, as long as your app does not depend on the specific hardware of a Clover device such as the payment card reader or barcode scanner you may be able to develop on an emulator.

That'll reduce your cost to $0. To test printing on an emulator can you can use the image print driver:
