Can you please point out some samples of using tethered mini to prompt the user for some application level data, for example their email address or phone number or just a PIN number?

I'm assuming this is what you're trying to do:
- Tether a Clover Mini to another device, let's say via USB
- Press a button on the external device
- Trigger an activity to appear on the Clover device
So, long story short, this workflow is not possible in its current state. It's not possible to fire an intent on a Clover device by triggering it through an external device.
Am I understanding your desired workflow correctly?
