Availability across channels. What is it?

I can see the `available` field in the Inventory API, which is defined as

Indicates whether the modifier is available across all channels

I wonder what exactly does that mean? Can I have a few specific examples?

Hey, so modifier availability is not fully rolled out; we have done some work, but it is not fully ready. Please do not rely on this flag for implementation.

same goes for other object types (items etc) `available` flags?

Item availability does work and there is a UI in the dashboard and device to enable/disable an item.

I recommend testing this in sandbox so you can see how it works.

i see that. My question was a bit different though. What is availability across all channels? The *across all channels* part is what I'm struggling to understand

SO the feature is not fully made, so when we have that feature available we will provide more details on what channels mean.
