Availability across channels. What is it?

I can see the `available` field in the Inventory API, which is defined as

Indicates whether the modifier is available across all channels

I wonder what exactly does that mean? Can I have a few specific examples?

Hey, so modifier availability is not fully rolled out; we have done some work, but it is not fully ready. Please do not rely on this flag for implementation.

same goes for other object types (items etc) available flags?

Item availability does work and there is a UI in the dashboard and device to enable/disable an item.

I recommend testing this in sandbox so you can see how it works.

i see that. My question was a bit different though. What is availability across all channels? The across all channels part is what I'm struggling to understand

SO the feature is not fully made, so when we have that feature available we will provide more details on what channels mean.
