Ignore Items and Categories from API call

Hi, I currently have an application that pulls all customer items and categories from the api. I want to know if there is a way to disable some items from being pulled through api and only keep then on the clover device for ordering. A use case for this would be if a merchant does not want the application to pull alcohol and tobacco items and rather leave that to the waiter to order. Is there currently a way clover offers to disable them from being pulled into the api or do we have to manually add that feature on our end through code?

You can use filters in the endpoint to filter out the data.
