Query REST API using Employee_id to know what merchants they are connected to

Is it possible to query the REST API to provide a list of all the merchants that an employee is connected to? Or does the same email address correspond to a different employee id for each merchant?
If the latter is true, then I'm guessing its not possible to get a list of merchants easily.

Also, there would probably be authentication issues, as Oauth is against the merchant .. correct?
