Finding out which App a Payment Comes From

Is there any way of telling where a payment is created through?

Say for example a client has my app installed on their device, but they make a payment through the default Sale app instead. Is there any method of knowing where that payment was made on my (the developer) end, short of calling up the client and asking them?

You could look into using the payment's external ID field to encode some information to identify your app. Without knowing more details it's hard to suggest anything specific.
