What kind of app do I submit if all I want is access through the REST API?

I'm trying to create a completely separate application where all I need to pull a merchants orders as they come in in real-time. From my understanding, I need to submit an app through the Clover App Market in order to get a valid API token from a merchant in order to use the API.

What kind of app do I need to develop? Just confused at the basics of what this app will be.

You need a web application to have API access.
