Accept Customers Credit Card payments via E-commerce site

We want to accept Customer credit card payments from our Online Web Portal for our restaurant merchants using Clover devices. Which is the best option 1) Developer Pay API or 2 )Do Payment Gateway Integration like Payeezy Hosted Payment Page and accept payments. Kindly confirm.
