There are a few different scenarios that may prevent interaction with the Clover device.

The Pay Display App Has Been Deleted from the Clover Device
If the Pay Display app is no longer installed on the Clover device, the merchant will need to download it again. They can do this from the web dashboard, or directly from the Clover device.

To download the appropriate Pay Display app onto the Clover device, the merchant will need to:

  1. Open the App Market
  2. Tap the Cloud Pay Display app if they connect to the Clover device through the cloud, or the USB Pay Display app if they connect via USB
  3. Tap Free – Subscribe
  4. Tap Accept & Install in the Install App summary pop-up
  5. After the app has installed, tap the sync button in the upper right corner of the App Market

The Pay Display App Needs to be Updated

In this case, the merchant will need to open the Register app and press the sync button in the upper right corner. It should automatically prompt them to update the appropriate Pay Display app. If this doesn’t occur, they can update the app on the Clover device manually by following these steps:

  1. Open the App Market
  2. Tap the Cloud Pay Display app if they connect to the Clover device through the cloud, or the USB Pay Display app if they connect via USB
  3. Tap Uninstall
  4. Tap OK in the confirmation pop-up
  5. Tap Free – Subscribe
  6. Tap Accept & Install in the Install App summary pop-up
  7. After the app has installed, tap the sync button in the upper right corner of the App Market

The Pay Display App is Unable to Launch
If the Pay Display app is unable to launch, the merchant will need to update it. To do this, they will need to open the Register app and press the sync button in the upper right corner. It should automatically prompt them to update the app. If this doesn’t occur, they can update the Pay Display app on the Clover device manually by following these steps:

  1. Open the App Market
  2. Tap the Cloud Pay Display app if they connect to the Clover device through the cloud, or the USB Pay Display app if they connect via USB
  3. Tap Uninstall
  4. Tap OK in the confirmation pop-up
  5. Tap Free – Subscribe
  6. Tap Accept & Install in the Install App summary pop-up
  7. After the app has installed, tap the sync button in the upper right corner of the App Market
The Web App Has Been Deleted
For Remote Pay Cloud integrations, if the Web app is deleted, the merchant’s authentication token will expire. If this has occurred, please contact us at semi-integrations@clover.com on behalf of your merchant and ask us to push the app to your merchant’s Clover device.
