Importing inventory with the same itemIDs

Working with a retail chain that would like to have the same inventory and same itemIDs across multiple stores.

I noticed the bulk importer requires the itemIDs to be blank and they are generated upon import.

Is there a way to pass in the itemID so that Clover can use that particular itemID if there's no conflict for that store?

Hmm. that could work. So I use the GET /v3/merchants/{mId}/items and filter on "sku"

Hey there, is there something you'd be trying to accomplish with ItemIDs that wouldn't be possible by just re-using SKUs across multiple locations?

Follow-up here. Is there the notion of a SKU for modifiers as well?

As far as I know, the alternateName field for both a Modifier and ModifierGroup is the closest thing.
