When a retailer changes their device (upgrades / fixes) or switches brokers why does the merchant-id (being the UID) gets changed in the process ? This renders any access tokens meaningless as old merchant accounts become inactive
Is there a way to
1. Auto transfer apps when merchant changes their broker / device ?
2. To detect when a merchant account (merchant-id) is no longer active ?
Merchant IDs do not change when merchants swap devices.
Not sure what you mean by "switches brokers". Do you mean resellers? You might have to elaborate on that.
Yes i meant resellers. We have observed merchant -id changes when a new device is obtained. Let me give some examples ( sourced from retailers)
RSXQ5WAHJDHV1 (old id) -> CGZTM7E24PFV1 (new id)
JCGAHEX3E84AA (old id) -> HFQY2C2NZTJH1 (new id)

Best information is that the changing resellers situation is akin to creating a new merchant, and it's going to look like a new merchant to you. There's no association with the old merchant.
Some aspects of the old merchant are cloned, but it seems to be limited to basic information about the merchant like the name, address, etc.
Doesn't sound like the old merchant is "disabled" so here's no way to know that.
