Do we need the READ/WRITE Payments permission to be a Custom Tender?

We are a Custom Tender on the Station 2018 and have currently requested all permissions. When i read the permission description here: https://docs.clover.com/clover-platform/docs/permissions#section-payments-read it looks like the permissions are primarily related to the REST API.

No. This is for (at the time I'm writing this) card-not-present payments; nothing on the device checks this permission...
