Capturing / voiding a payment in background freezes the UI (remote-pay-android-connector)

I'm using the clover remote-pay-android-connector, when the android application tries to capture/void a payment and it fails, we send the capture/void data to our app DB for retry it later, however while the application is capturing/voiding a payment, the UI gets frozen, is there any way to fix it?.
