Does a merchant needs to install my web app in order to get access through the REST API?

I want to know if a merchant needs to install my clover application from the market app in order to authenticate and pull data from his account through the REST API.
My web app will request the user's merchant ID and will authentica to the REST API. Then I will try to get access to the user's data from my clover web application.

I need to confirm if is necessary for my users to install my clover application.

Yes, the merchant must install the application in order to use it. During the OAuth Process, Clover verifies whether or not the user has installed the application.
