Can a premium subscriber unsubscribe and then get a free trial of premium service?

We're thinking of trying this a few months in to our app release, but wonder if existing subscribers might save a month of service costs by unsubscribing and then resubscribing.

You can offer a 30 day trial for you application, Clover will handle the billing for that, but if you create a subscription which is free and your merchants switch from Paid to Free, they will be stucked on free until they uninstall the app (and you would have to disable the free option). An option you may do is having them subscribe to the new (Temporary Free) subscription & then on your app create a logic to check if the Free tier has ended, if it has, reffer the merchant to change back to their original subcription (that is, IF you want your existing merchants to have a freeby).
