Hi,
Does Clover support "Manual auth (SAF - store and forward)" process in Remote Pay Java SDK? If yes then how does it work?
Thanks.

Hello @Devendra.

May I ask you to clarify what you mean by "Manual auth (SAF - store and forward)"?

Here is a link to documentation about the different transaction types the Remote Pay SDK's support: https://docs.clover.com/build/transaction-types/

Follow up Questions:
1. Do we need to set any floor limit for SAF? if Yes, then where to set that value?
2. Do you support IVR manual auth (cashier calling bank and getting manual auth code, and proving back to Clover)?

Thanks,
Devendra

If you are asking about store and forward in the context of handling offline payments, Clover does support this as well. In cases where there are issues with poor connectivity, Clover has an offline payment mode the operates in a "store and forward" fashion. Devices are still able to accept payments with debit/credit cards with the transactions being stored on the device. When the device comes back online, these transactions are then processed.
Two things to note:
  • Stored transactions are still at risk of being declined by the issuer (exceeding credit limit, expired card etc.)
  • Gift card or EBT transactions cannot be conduction in offline payments mode.

Thanks Justin. We will validate the same as per your response and will revert back if any question on offline scenarios.

Thanks,

Devendra

In regards to follow up question 1, if you go to the Clover Setup App > Payments > Offline Payments, you are able to configure your offline payment limitations. You can:
  • Limit the amount of each individual offline payment (cannot exceed $100,000)
  • Limit the total of all offline payment amounts (cannot exceed $250,000)
  • Require merchant approval for a given amount (cannot exceed $100,000)
For follow up question 2, we do not support voice authorization in semi-integrated solutions.
