adb setup on the clover mini dev kit

I followed the instructions listed here:
https://docs.clover.com/build/android...

At the bottom it made a reference to adding a line to my adb_usb.ini file. I completed that step saved the file and then ran adb devices and device does not show up on the list. If I start genymotion I can see that device on the list. How do I get it to show up on the list? I am using OSX.

When I ran a new genymotion device both popped up on my list. It prompted me to approve the device on my terminal and I was able to get going with adb logcat!
