Vaulted Card or token for future payments

Is it possible to get a vaulted card or token to make future payments from a previous transaction.

My goal here is to not have to store that information myself on a server to avoid PCI compliance.

Is it possible to get this token at anytime, or is it something I have to store once its generated.
