What could stop an API TOKEN to not work outside sandbox

Merchant created the API successfully and it works within sandbox but they keep getting a internal server error within production,

Gave read and rights for Payments, Order and Customers. Anything with /v1/device/ping is giving the server error,

Merchant created the API successfully? I am not sure what that even means. All integrations/apps need to be approved to work in production - https://docs.clover.com/docs/developer-app-approval.
