Clover Flex - 1st transaction of the day fails to connect to Clover

We have a merchant, with Clover Flex on semi-integrated solution on Windows OS. Based on what we are seeing, the 1st transaction of the day fails with logs indicating no response from Clover. Simply canceling and trying again works.


Windows OS C: drive is frozen using a program called "Deep Freeze" - which reverts the drive to its original state after a reboot. Our application is running on a separate partition that is not impacted by this utility. The Clover SDK however is installed on the C:\ - so I suspect something must be happening resulting in this issue here.

What version of the sdk are you using? Is the point of sale connected and you are initiating a payment and not getting a payment response? Or are you trying to connect and unable to?

Clover SDK 4.5

It seems like even though the Clover is online, and the point of sale is online - we initiate a pay ment and get no response.

It seems? Would it be possible to get more information from the merchant to see what is actually happening on the device etc.? If you can get us the device serial and post it in a moderators only comment I can check for any crashes (I won't be able to do this until after Christmas).

Hi,

Were you ever able to resolve this issue? We are a Marathon gas station experiencing something very similar; the first debit/credit transaction of the day will usually fail (only the first). We would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Are the payments being declined, or can you not connect to the device? Are you using standard Clover apps to take the payment? Which one? Or do you have an external POS and you are just using our device to take payments?
