Does Clover plan on updating the version of Android used on their devices?

Currently, we are limited to using Android API Level 19 for development on Clover's devices, which corresponds to Android's KitKat, or OS version 4.4 (originally released October 2013). For reference, the latest version of Android is Nougat, 7.0, which corresponds to API Level 24. We would like to use some functionality Android has provided in version 5.0, which corresponds to API Level 21. While we have options for workarounds, it is much cleaner to use Android's built in functionality.

With all that said, does Clover have any plans to update which version is used on its devices?

Due to a number of PCI compliance and hardware/software work that would be required to update our build of android, I would say it's unlikely an update will be released anytime soon.
