Tracking Sales - Item ID Not Found

Hi, I need some immediate help.

We're developing a Clover app and we import a list of items by item ID. We need to track quantities sold for these items.

When we look at the Clover sales report we are not finding the item ID anywhere. Instead we find a completely different ID that doesn't match the Item ID that we import originally.

We've looked all over the docs and can't figure out where we're going wrong.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Clover has it's own item IDs that conform to our ID standards. You'd want to be assigning the your internal item ID to the Clover item's SKU.

Thanks for the reply. I don't quite understand.

In our app, we import the item ID and item Name from Clover into our software. We then track the Item ID as sales come in to the POS. For example, if we import Bud Light with an Item ID of 354 , we're looking for quantities sold from ID 354 in Clover. However, we're not finding the same ID. It seems that Clover has a different item ID in the sales report.

Thank you for your help. We've been struggling with this for weeks.

Sorry, thought you were importing your items into Clover. Clover item IDs don't change. They are a 13-digit base-32 number. Is that the item ID you are using?

Hi Jeff, yes it is the item ID we're using. When we look at the sales reports the item ID's aren't matching. Any idea what we might be doing wrong? Thank you again for the help.

Are you saying that you EXPORT Clover items and IMPORT them into your system. At this point you record the 13-digit Clover item ID in your system. Then later, you generate a report in Clover, and the item IDs don't match the item IDs you recorded in your system when you originally exported the items from Clover? Also, where are seeing the item IDs? We usually do not expose the Clover item IDs.
