Clover Station: can we deploy and start simple custom app which opens an embedded browser to our webapp?

For our integration with Clover Station, specifically, can we:

1) Develop simple Android app, which internally has only an embedded browser to open our web app. It will not utilize any of Clover android SDK. All functionality is developed on the server-side. We also don't plan to utilize Clover payment gateway, since there is a a third party gateway already integrated.

3) Can you point to information on how to approve our Android app with Clover in order for the app to be published in Clover app market.

Thank you

Clover Station

1) If your app allows taking payments through another payment gateway it will not be approved.

We require developers to use Clover gateway for payment processing, and do not allow the use of external payment gateways.

3) See: https://docs.clover.com/clover-platform/docs/clover-app-approval-process

Jacob, I appreciate your response. Please clarify, will we be allowed to implement payment processing in our backend using Clover gateway? We are trying to avoid doing payments in the client app. Basically, our app, being light-weight, will talk with our backend, and the backend will communicate with Clover gateway for payment processing. This way, we are preserving the design of our service also meeting the use of Clover’s payment gateway requirement.

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish? It seems very cumbersome (even if it was possible) to launch a web-view that requires a customer to enter their card info, especially when you consider that you are on a Clover device that can easily take the payment. You can use the Android SDK or Payment Connector to take payment on the device.

This is not possible. If you have an app that accepts payment, you must invoke Clover software on the device. Your app can request a payment, and a get result, but the details are otherwise not exposed.
