How to scan barcode on Clover mini device

Hi Clover Team,

We are developing an Inventory based checkout application where user will come on our Clover MINI device and select Food Item which they want to purchase. We are also using Physical Barcode scanner to scan products but sometime, it scan product barcode but sometime not on Clover MINI device.

If we test the same on Register app or on our simulator then it scans everytime. Please let us know what we need to do exactly to scan product every time.

Is there any specific condition set in Clover MINI that it scan only one or limited type of Barcode. or we are doing something different which restrict product to be scanned.

When you say physical barcode scanner are you referring to the front facing camera that is built in to the Clover Mini? Or are you using a third party external USB barcode scanner?

Hi Jacob,

We are using third party USB barcode scanner. The Register and Inventory Clover apps work just fine on all barcodes using our development Mini with this USB scanner. But on our app implementation seems to have a issue with shorter barcodes such as 07811403 (think soda can) vs longer bar codes which seem to scan just fine. Running the our app on a simulator, the shorter barcodes work fine with a USB scanner. At this point it seems that it is only the mini that is failing and only with our implementation. No errors are being generated and it just seems that a scan did not take place.
