Do I need a DevKit?

Do I need to purchase a DevKit if I already have a Clover Flex set up for production use but that is not currently in use? I guess what I am asking is can I install and point my test apps on the production flex to the sandbox account and use it as my development platform until I am ready to use it for production environment?

Or is there something special about the DevKit device that I need to get it instead?

Thanks,
Matt

Clover production devices do not have adb or otherwise have a way to sideload an application. Converting existing production devices to devkits is something we are exploring for the future but the answer for now is that you'll need to get a devkit.

Depending on the nature of your app you can consider testing with an emulator.
