Can a Clover Mini be configured out of "terminal mode"? Gift Card app not working.

Hello! Our 5th store received Clover Mini's that do not allow processing of digital gift cards using the Clover Gift Card app (was Gyft). The other 4 stores with different MIDs and Clover Mini's are fine. I was told by Clover Support "Unfortunately, selling digital cards is not currently an option for stations in terminal mode until 2019." But no fix is available as yet.
Does anyone know if the Clover Mini can be configured out of "terminal mode"?? Is there a better Gift Card app option?
