Can Existing Clover Merchant Use same MID to use E commerce API

Can a clover merchant use the same MID that was provided for his Clover devices during his onboarding be used to access the E-commerce API to do payments via iFrame? Or should the merchant sign up for a new MID when he wants to access the E-commerce API
